Shipping Fish from Alaska

When shipping fish from Alaska, every step matters in preserving the quality and flavor of your catch.

Here’s how we package and ship your frozen Alaskan seafood to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Packaging

We use airline-approved shipping boxes specially designed to keep your seafood frozen. Each box includes a sturdy corrugated exterior and an insulated styrofoam insert for maximum protection during transit. Kept at ultra-cold temperatures before transit, your fish remains frozen throughout the journey, arriving in excellent condition.

Keeping dry ice to a minimum

For most shipments, we avoid using dry ice altogether. Classified as a hazardous material, dry ice adds regulatory complexity to the shipping process. Our packaging system is specifically designed to keep your seafood frozen without dry ice, except for the longest journeys. Packed directly from our walk-in freezer at -20°F, your catch starts at an ultra-low temperature, ensuring it stays frozen during transit.

Shipping Options

Select from three reliable methods to ship your fish from Alaska to your home.

1. Checked Bag

Pick up your boxed seafood directly from us and take it to the airport as a checked bag with your airline. This is the most economical option, though it can be challenging to manage with additional luggage on your way home.

Anchorage Airport Delivery

If you’re flying out of Anchorage and don’t want to deal with hauling heavy fish boxes around during your vacation, we offer a convenient shipping service to make your trip stress-free.

For a flat rate of $145 per box, we’ll handle the entire process—getting your seafood from our shop in Soldotna to a cold storage facility near Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, where it will be chilled and ready for pickup when you depart Alaska.

This option is perfect for travelers who want to enjoy the rest of their trip without being tied down by their catch. Instead of managing logistics yourself, you can travel light and collect your box right before checking in for your flight.

Let us take care of the heavy lifting so you can focus on enjoying Alaska to the fullest.

3. FedEx or UPS Priority Overnight

If you’d rather not travel with 50 lbs of frozen seafood, we offer FedEx and UPS Priority Overnight shipping right to your doorstep. Shipping is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to ensure next-day delivery. Plus, with our worry-free guarantee, if the box arrives in unacceptable condition, we’ll make it right

Insurance and Claims

On rare occasions, Alaskan seafood may arrive in poor or spoiled condition due to logistical shipping issues from Alaska to the continental U.S., such as weather delays or mechanical breakdowns. Both UPS and FedEx include insurance in the shipping price.

To make a claim, please provide proof of the condition upon arrival by taking photos and discussing any issues with the delivery driver. Once we receive acceptable documentation, we’ll replace your spoiled seafood with a new box, shipped within 7 to 10 business days.
